I'm a nurse so I need a bezel setting for my engagement ring. What is the difference between a bezel and a half bezel setting?
The bezel setting does not use prongs to set the diamond.The diamond is set with a frame of gold that surrounds the diamond. The wall or frame creates a tight fit for the diamond to set into. The top lip of the bezel is then folded over the edge of the diamond and the lip is what holds the diamond in place. A half bezel is the same principal but with the bezel wall only over two ends of the diamond.
